Both abutments are founded on prepared bedrock base. The south location is on the island Reksteren and the north is located on the islet Gullholmane. The bridge box girder is monolithically connected to the abutments in both ends. The restraint of the superstructure is resolved by concrete gravity base structures with a box-shaped, cellular configuration. Solid ballast (olivine) and post-tensioned rock anchors are used to enhance the overturning and sliding resistance. This report focuses on the design of the structural features deemed crucial for the feasibility and performance of the integral abutment concept: — The direct, integral connection between bridge girder and abutment — Abutment global stabilityen_US
