Numerical investigations of damaged post-tension systems and their structural effect on bridgesen_US
This study provides additional knowledge about the structural consequences of damaged PT systems, with particular focus on the presence of voids in the duct. The work consists of two distinct parts. The first part is a literature review on various relevant topics including, damages in PT bridges, corrosion mechanisms, NDT, and existing guidelines. In the second part, the problem is investigated numerically by FEM analysis, analysing simple beams, case studies and generic bridge typologies. Finally, this report provides a summary of the most relevant conclusions.en_US
