UAS for geohazard surveys relevant for roads
Abstract
This report presents a synthesis of the results of a questionnaire distributed to personnel from road administrations in Norway. The aim of the survey was to evaluate the use of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), or drones, for assessing roads exposed to landslide, rockfall, and avalanche hazards. Also, the survey aimed to identify the challenges or barriers to uptake. The recipients were identified as key persons in their organizations working with avalanche danger in the road sector. Results from 36 respondents to the questionnaire are summarized along with some recommendations.
