Abstract

Paper presented at seminar in Oraka, Japan 1990-10-17. An introduction to the use of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) as a light fill material in road construction is given, including material reguirements,durability, pavement design, technical advantages and economy. Also various applications of EPS are presented in the form of seven case histories. Future possibilities regarding the use of EPS as a light fill material are also mentioned.
