Oppmerkingstiltak for sykler i bykryss
Abstract
The report summarises evaluation studies of six measures for bicycles in intersections in urban areas and one measure for pedestrians, in terms of their effects on objective and subjective safety, mobility, behaviour, and attitudes. The review includes 65 studies from seven different countries. It appears that that cycle boxes, advanced stop lines and coloured cycle lanes improve the conditions for bicyclists. Thus, the use of these measures should be extended. Central feeder lanes and special marking of pedestrian crossings will probably also have a positive effect. It is recommended that these measures be tested more extensively. The effects of left-hand and right-hand side feeder lanes cannot be assessed, as they have not been examined in any foreign effect studies.
